I'm Floored

I spent a lot of time on the floor this weekend.
I’m a mommy. That’s what we do.
And it isn’t always easy, especially when there is an endless list of things that should be getting done. Like launching the applications for the next Azamra cohort.
But on Sunday, I wasn’t launching anything. I was sitting cross-legged in the corner, cooking plastic food and sipping imaginary tea with Deeds.* He’s a master toddler chef, and there’s always something cooking in his Kitchen Center.
And honestly, it took everything from me. Not because I didn’t want to be there, but because my brain was spinning with everything else I needed to do.

But here’s the thing. I know my floor.
My values come first. My skills come second.
It’s the same with Azamra. Before I ever train a facilitator in technique, they have to be solid in who they are. Their integrity. Their presence. Their devotion to this work and the people they’re in service to.
Because skill without values is empty. But values with skill? That’s mastery.
And this is what floors me about what’s coming together with Azamra.
Monday morning, we held the Azamra Clarity Call, and the energy was electric. Sixty men and women, bursting with questions, lighting up the Zoom chat with so much engagement and joy.
I couldn’t stop smiling for hours after.
Applications were released early to the waitlist, and within twenty-four hours, over half of the interview slots were booked.
By the time you read this, I hope my numbers are already outdated.
And my secret dream? That every interview slot is filled before applications even open to the public tomorrow.
I don’t usually share secret dreams in public emails like this. It’s that old fear of possibly jinxing a good thing.
But in a space like Azamra, trust is what we do.
Fifteen members of our current graduating cohort showed up to the call. Not because they’re applying again, but because they couldn’t wait to welcome you. They wanted to cheer you on, answer your questions, and make sure you knew just how deeply supported you’d be.
Because this is what we stand for. We don’t just train facilitators. We shape leaders who carry this work with integrity, depth, and devotion.
If you’ve been thinking about applying, now is the moment. Before the slots are gone. Before the doubt creeps in.
Because whether you’re leading, learning, or sitting on the floor with a toddler and a plastic teacup, your foundation is everything.
And when you have your feet firmly rooted, when you know your ground, you move differently.
