A Million Words
Dec 11, 2024....Wouldn't be enough to tell you about Ignite Kindred.
But an image might help.
In a million years, with a million words, this painting just might begin to capture the million dreams that have become the essence of Ignite over the years.
Ignite started as a five week course around my dining room table. Fifteen women who were curious to learn more, feel more, who knew there had to be so much more than just the embarrassing snippets of halfhearted conversations we each received about womanhood growing up.
Ignite quickly morphed into hundreds of women all over the world, logging in year after year to embrace the aliveness of our embodied womanhood together.
We've become so much more than a course.
We've become a tribe
A circle of women who have grown, healed, celebrated, and supported each other through it all.
Ignite has thus inspired
- Students to train as kallah teachers- passionate about bringing this content to the next generation in an enlightened and empowered way
- Magnificent bat mitzvah events that feel like a real initiation and welcoming of our daughters into womanhood
- The best, most colorful, meaningful, and masterful conversations between moms and their adolescent children
- A deeper appreciation for women's health and the miraculous beauty of our bodies
- A reclamation of women's mitzvahs from a place of joy and love
...And that's just the stuff I can write in an email.
The not even tip of an iceberg of what Ignite has come to mean to so many.
But last year, some Ignite participants worked to surprise me with an everlasting image of what this course has been for them all.
They roped in Rachel Fraida, an Ignite participant and gifted artist, to produce a painting that highlighted the features they each loved most about the course.
And surprised me with it Erev Shavuot. (Not even knowing that it was my birthday!)
I don't cry easily. Or really at all.
But this.
And this.
And wait, there's also the poem.
And the behind the scenes video of how this magnificence came to be:
And so many millions more words I'll have to leave unsaid. Because it wouldn't do any of this justice.
My business coach once mentioned that I tend to write a lot about "what I don't" and not enough about "what I do"
And I think it's probably because what I do is often beyond words.
But I hope this email paints a picture.
Ignite are all the conversations we never had with our mothers. The conversations we need to be having with our daughters. The ones we first need to have within ourselves, and with one another.
Because we were never meant to do this alone.
Ignite is a tribe. A circle of women shaking tambourines (and those beautiful hips!) in song.
Registration opens Chanukah for our sixth cohort beginning Motzei Shabbos Jan 11.
A million breaths,
Fally
